SORCA would like to recognize Mike Nelson?s hard work this year in finding the funds for the first legal trail in town. This new trail on Diamond Head now has its official name Half-Nelson.

This is the last xc toonie race for the season.
Awards for the year that evening in a club members backyard please respect their open home and their neighbors parking will be not be possible on the road of the gather please car pooling or biking to the event.
Bring a chair, no glass, byob - this is your club's insurance condition.
no dogs will be permitted at the after-party
Sign on at 1:00 pm at the ring creek FSR
Race starts at 2:00pm
Award/dinner for rider only 5:30pm

a. Start at the ring creek FSR
b. Climb to Angry Midget
c. Climb back up to Psedo Pseuga and do part one and two
d. Right on access road and climb to Word of Mouth
e. Turn left onto Worm hole
f. Finish in small cul-du-sac above Quest

Kids Race
All kids who enjoy biking are invited to participate regardless of skill level. September 19, Brackendale Elementary School. Field Skills Course for ages 5 and under. Trail Race for ages 7 and under, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. Race Registration 2:00 - 3:00 pm. $5 per child includes race, insurance and BBQ
Race starts at 3:00 pm.
Parents or guardians must be present during the race and at sign up.
Open to all, SORCA membership not required.
Trail Contractors - The Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association (SORCA) is establishing a Select List of pre-qualified Trail Contractors to work on a variety of upcoming trail maintenance and upgrade projects, scheduled from now untilMarch 31, 2010. Contractors must have extensive experience in building and maintaining trails, with preference given to those with mountain bike trail experience. Trail projects will involve both machine built and hand built trails, and therefore contractors with experience in either or both types of trails are encouraged to apply.
Successful contractors must:
Have valid WCB Cover, and
Have appropriate 1st Aid Training
Additional criteria used to assess contractors include:
Trail building experience, particularly mountain bike trails
Single track and/or double track trail building experience
Trail design experience
Chain saw experience
The ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
Contractors interested in being evaluated for inclusion on the Select List are invited to submit Expressions of Interest by 2:00 p.m. Friday September 11, 2009 to:
