The Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association (SORCA) invites all local restaurants and businesses to get involved in our 2010 bi-weekly summer 'Toonie' Races. This is a great opportunity to help out a grassroots community event while at the same time showcasing your business to a specific demographic of corridor residents. In 2009 SORCA exceeded the 500 member threshold for the first time and had over 1200 total participants between the 12-race 'Toonie' series.

When: Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at 7:00pm (refreshments and snacks provided) Where: Howe Sound Inn & Brew Pub Additional Details: contact Ian Lowe at toonies@sorca.ca

SORCA first fundraiser of the year is a movie premier of Awesome Land:
Women Of Dirt is a unique look into the world of Downhill Racing, Dirt
Jumping and Freeriding. This film looks through the eyes of the
wondrous women that have helped grow the sport of Gravity Mountain
Biking with their strength and courage. Other mountain bike films have
overlooked these vibrant and dedicated women, but no longer!

Awesome Land: Women Of Dirt celebrates the mountain bike while
celebrating the women who love them. A beautiful and energetic film
that opens a window into an awesome world

This movie is by Bones over Metal and thank you to the Howe Sound Brew
Pub for hosting us.

The event is March 3rd at 8pm at the Howe Sound Brewing Company,
tickets are $5 and all money from ticket sales will go SORCA. Tickets
on sale at the door and you don't have to a SORCA member to attend
but you have to be 19+ to attend.

SORCA`s second fundraiser will be Gear Swap held in April, details to
follow.
