This week’s Cinco has been masterminded by the original gangster, rabble-rouser and builder of my favorite trails in Squamish…Gary McFarlane! Or rather, by Gary’s newest adventure: the Squamish Ninja Gym. Don’t worry folks, this is a kid friendly gym – Gary’s decided to leave the stripper pole in its current location by Pseudotsuga…
He’s got some help from his friends Fitzsimmons Pub, PacWest Systems Supply and Nesters Market who have joined forces to conjure up a fantastic afterparty for our racers.
Fitz Pub is on the Blackcomb side of Whistler Village, over the scenic Fitzsimmons Creek. It’s the perfect place for a stroll for those wary of the mass-produced, the overcrowded, the homogenous; for those with a taste for the unique, the quirky, the unusual or rare. Owned by Squamish local rider Veronika Voracek, it’s definitely the place to visit when you head to Whistler.
PacWest keeps us supplied with wall and ceiling stuff – thanks for sponsoring SORCA events year after year PacWest!
Nesters Market also keeps us supplied with all the locally made sauerkraut and kombucha we could need to do our epic squamish adventures. Congrats to Sean Daly for winning the Business Person of the Year award at the Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards recently.
This week’s race format is ENDURO and we’re also throwing in the first of 3 uphill challenges this season for those of you who like the taste of blood, seeing stars, and generally pushing your body to it’s outer limits. #valleycliffesucksdontgo
