Our mountain bike community is coming together to celebrate Sea to Sky Gondola Staff!!
On August 21, VentureWeb Design was scheduled to host a SORCA Cinco race in conjunction with the Sea to Sky Gondola. In light of the vandalism to Squamish’s favourite attraction, VentureWeb and SORCA have joined forces with the teams at Norman Rudy’s, Gibbons Hospitality Group and Nesters Market for a special Cinco afterparty to show support for Sea to Sky Gondola staff who have been affected by the incident.
The event will be open to SORCA cinco participants and Sea to Sky Gondola Staff. It’s an opportunity for Gondola staff to have a hearty homestyle dinner, some welcome refreshments and for the cycling community to show their support for the Gondola Staff.
The Sea to Sky Gondola is a valued community partner and a big supporter of mountain biking in Squamish. As a SORCA black diamond level sponsor, the Gondola was one of the first local businesses to contribute to the Trail CHAMPs program. They have championed the Rupert trail, ensuring it runs smoothly and receives the maintenance it deserves over the course of the season.
Food will be provided by Nesters Market, and refreshments and the space have been generously donated by Gibbons Hospitality / Norman Rudy’s.

The Cinco Race Details:
This will be a repeat of last year’s Kings and Queens of Squamish race, with a timed uphill climb then a 1-stage enduro descent.
A great challenge to see if you can beat your time from last year!
The Course: Riders will start at the lower Diamond Head lot and head all they way up the legacy (for those of you recoiling in horror, it isn’t the full megacy, just most of it!), past Angry M and continue up the climbing trail to just past the Grin and Holler intersection.
Racers will then descend into Meadow of the Grizzly, then onto Pseudotsuga, where riders will negotiate all three legs of Pseudo and finish in the lower parking lot.
Registration at 6:00pm at the lower parking lot.
Uphill stage will open at 6pm, cut-off time to start the climb will be at 6:30pm.
🌽We need volunteers for the Afterparty (help with tickets, bbqing, serving) and Race (sweeps, timers, marshals) on Wednesday🌽
