SORCA is engaging with local RCMP and various stakeholders on the usage and safety of Garibaldi Park Road. We have been informed that the RCMP may have additional enforcement on Garibaldi Park Road in the near future. We have been asked to inform and remind our members that although its a dirt road that accesses some of the best mountain bike trails anywhere, it's classed as a highway, and not a fire service road as many think. Meaning, that all rules that govern a normal highway are in play while utilizing this road. ![]()
The road has become quite busy in recent years, with many sea-to-sky residents using it year-round to access their favourite recreational areas. We remind our membership that conducting ourselves equitably and safely on this roadway is paramount. ... See MoreSee Less

SORCA has received permission to rebuild “Word of Mouth.” The rebuilt trail will traverse a forested piece of land to the north, just east of the original route, before briefly entering the cut block to reconnect with the lower section. We want to thank the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw and the land owners, Black Mount Logging and the Province of BC, for seeing the value in this reconnection. Our trail crew has been out clearing the initial route in preparation for some upcoming running events; however, it will take a larger effort over the coming months to make it 'bike ready.’ ![]()
Stay tuned for how you can get involved in completing this important re-connection. ... See MoreSee Less
