Commercial Operators and Events

Mountain biking is a booming business in Squamish. It’s not just our local members and riders – the trails bring nearly ten million dollars of annual spending to town from visiting mountain bikers.

We’ve got some fantastic local partners in town who have built their businesses around mountain biking – from coaching, to tours, to rentals, to races. These amazing community-minded operators give back in a variety of ways – they know how critical it is to keep the trails in great shape for their businesses.

Trail Supporter Passes

Some operators include our Trail Supporter Pass in their fees – for each individual who goes on a guided ride or books a coaching session, $20 goes back to trail maintenance.

You can also pick up Trail Supporter Passes and maps at any of the local bike shops, Sea to Sky Adventures or the Adventure Centre.

High 5

The SORCA High 5 is a simple way to give back. Races, rental companies and others can give $5 back to SORCA for trail maintenance for every registered rider or rented bike. Each individual they serve gets a sweet SORCA sticker in return.

Of course, $5 is just the suggested donation. Some of our partners go well above and beyond, donating $20 or more per rider. Or some contribute back a percentage of their profits for each ride booked in Squamish.

Event Spotlight

The Squamish50 trail running race is an annual event in Squamish – when we first started working with them in 2011, they set a goal of raising $20,000 for trail maintenance. In 2018, they crushed this goal, collecting $20 from each racer and an additional $10 donation from racers at each orientation run. These guys are amazing partners!
