Why Become a Trail Supporter?
We all want the same thing – to enjoy great trails in great shape. Problem is, they don’t just appear from nowhere, even though it may seem that way sometimes. Infrequent riders and visiting mountain bikers can do their part to maintain the trails by becoming a Trail Supporter. While regular riders should purchase a membership, being a Trail Supporter is a perfect way for those who are just passing through to show their support.
Volunteers alone can’t keep up with the maintenance. It’s just too much work with the vast number of trails in town and the ever-increasing number of users. Trail Supporter donations allow us to generate funding for seed money to secure matching funding through various grant programs. This in turn allows us to maintain and build new trails by hiring local trail builders.
The SORCA Trail Supporter pack is $20. It DOES NOT get you access to our events.
Non-members can pick up the SORCA Trail Supporter pack at any local bike shop, Nesters Market, or the Squamish Adventure Center. You can also purchase them online here.
We encourage any user to support local trails; it goes a long way to promoting a diverse, well-maintained, and sustainable local trail network. If you’re not a SORCA member you might want to join – we don’t just put on races! There are all kinds of fun social events as well, and your membership supports the club in advocating for and maintaining trails in Squamish.
