History of SORCA - Part 2

In our second video in our 5-part History of SORCA series, Path to Legitimacy, we take a quick look at the early steps SORCA took to establish mountain biking as a recognized and legitimate use of public lands. From the Save the Plunge campaign to standing before municipal, provincial, and federal governments, SORCA and its volunteer teams have worked hard to demonstrate how mountain biking benefits the community and local economy.

The video touches on these milestones and also highlights how, thanks to those efforts, SORCA was able to hire its first trail crew—small at first, but a big step forward. Today, our crew dedicates over 6,000 hours each year to trail maintenance, with volunteers contributing another 2,000 hours. It’s a brief overview of a much larger story, and we invite you to watch and learn more about how these early efforts continue to shape the trails we enjoy today.
